Kevin lives in Christchurch and is a Para alpine skiing champion. He made his first international competition in 1990 when he competed in the Disabled Alpine World Championships in Winter Park, USA. Two years later, Kevin joined the New Zealand Paralympic Team for the Albertville 1992 Paralympic Winter Games. It was in 1994 at his second Paralympic Games in Lillehammer that Kevin won his first Paralympic medal: bronze in the Men’s Slalom LW1/3. That was the beginning of a very successful journey as Kevin won bronze in the Slalom and silver in the Giant slalom at the 1996 Disabled Alpine World Championships held in Austria. At his third Paralympic Winter Games, Kevin finally won a gold medal in Nagano 1998 on the legendary Japanese slopes in the Super-G LW1,3,5/7.
