Devin Shanks #72

Paralympian Devin Shanks in the woods

Para alpine skier Devin represented New Zealand at the Albertville 1992 Paralympic Winter Games in Giant Slalom, Slalom and Downhill.   Originally from South Otago, Devin is now based in Albert Town and has worked in the wider Central Otago area since 1994, bringing over 25 years’ experience in transport, cartage and earthworks through the company that he created.

As a Wanaka local, Devin can often be found out on the lake and rivers or enjoying the spoils that the area offers including hunting, fishing and 4WDriving along with his trusted four-legged mate, Hemi. Devin still skies for leisure.

PNZ met with Devin in September 2020 when he officially received his ‘numbered’ Paralympic pin as part of The Celebration Project.
