Dave made his Paralympic debut at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games where he represented New Zealand in the marathon. He was part of a successful team of 9 Paralympians competing in Para athletics. It is after an electrical work accident that Dave lost his two arms. Dave is still passionate about running and currently holds an impressive collection of New Zealand records in his classification T45: the 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon. He still regularly runs events from 5k to ultra-marathons.
